Waterparks melden sich mit ihrem neuen Song „Lowkey As Hell“ zurück

Erst im Herbst letzten Jahres veröffentlichten Waterparks ihr aktuelles Album „Fandom“. Nun meldet sich das Trio schon wieder mit einem neuen Song zurück und nicht nur das: Auch ein neues Label-Zuhause hat die Band um Frontmann Awsten Knight gefunden.

Wie die Truppe mitteilte, stehen sie ab sofort bei 300 Entertainment unter Vertrag. Dazu sagte Knight:

„Over the years, we’ve gotten better at switching it up. By making moves like getting with 300 – an almost exclusively hip-hop oriented label – and not forfeiting our guitars once we signed the deal, I think we’re actually taking steps to help rock. Either way, fuck genres and expectations. There’s no reason to be limited.“

Eine gute Einstellung. Zur Feier des neuen Vertrags gibt es dann auch sogleich die neue Single „Lowkey As Hell“ auf die Lauscher. Anhören könnt ihr euch das Ganze hier und jetzt.

Zur Bedeutung des Songs sagte Awsten Knight:

„The song is a recap of the last year or so. It really describes what’s been going on and who I am. When I’m onstage, I’m a forward-facing, extroverted presence. At the same time, I’m also the biggest hermit ever. I just like to stay in, ignore my phone a lot, and write. I’m naturally reserved in my day-to-day life. The juxtaposition of loud materialism versus private emotion in that opening line really encapsulates the feeling I wanted to get across in the rest of the song.“

Ob wir dann auch bald mit einem neuen Album oder einer EP rechnen dürfen, ist noch nicht bekannt.

Die aktuelle Scheibe „Fandom“ brachten Waterparks noch über ihr altes Label Hopeless Records an den Start. Die Scheibe markiert das nunmehr dritte Studioalbum des Trios. Zuvor veröffentlichten sie 2018 ihre LP „Entertainment“. Das Debütalbum „Double Dare“ erschien 2016.
