Metallica: Ex-Bassist Ron McGovney bietet James Hetfield seine Hilfe an

Wohl jeder mag mittlerweile mitbekommen haben, dass Metallica ihre Tour-Pläne mit Slipknot in Neuseeland und Australien aufgrund eines Rückfalls von Frontmann James Hetfield verworfen haben.

Der 56-jährige befindet sich nun in einer Entzugsklinik, um seine erneut aufgekeimten Alkoholprobleme hoffentlich ein für alle Mal in den Griff zu bekommen, nachdem er zuvor bereits jahrelang trocken war.

Nun meldete sich Ron McGovney, der frühere Bassist der Kombo, via Twitter zu Wort und spricht Hetfield im Kampf gegen seine Sucht positiv zu.

Ex-Metallica-Bassist macht James Hetfield Mut

Hierbei heißt es, dass, falls er etwas von ihm benötige, er seine Nummer habe. Nach eigenen Angaben sei McGovney selbst erst seit zwei Jahren trocken und verstehe, dass dies kein einfacher Kampf sei.

McGovney war der originale Bassist von Metallica und ist auf frühen Demos der Band zu hören. Schon nach kurzer Zeit stieg er aber aus und machte Platz für den 1986 verstorbenen Cliff Burton.

Auch wir wünschen James Hetfield natürlich weiterhin nur das Beste.
