Ice Nine Kills kündigen neues Album „The Silver Scream: Welcome To Horrorwood“ an

Ice Nine Kills möchten der Horror-Thematik allem Anschein nach immer noch nicht abschwören – und das ist auch ganz gut so. Nachdem die Band in ihrer neuen Single „Hip To Be Scared“ den satirischen Horror-Thriller „American Psycho“ verarbeitet hat, folgte dann nur Stunden später auch die herbeigesehnte Ankündigung eines neuen Albums.

Ice Nine Kills haben ein neues Album in der Pipeline

Jenes wird wie bereits vermutet auf den „The Silver Scream: Welcome To Horrorwood“ hören und am 15. Oktober 2021 über Fearless Records erscheinen.

Dass die Platte wie schon ihr Vorgänger inhaltlich auf jeder Menge Horror- und Slasher-Referenzen fußen wird, ist allein schon aufgrund des Namens und des Artworks deutlich.

Dreizehn neue Horror-Songs

Welche anderen Vorlagen die Band dabei für ihre Zwecke nutzen wird, steht aufgrund einer bislang fehlenden Songliste aber noch aus. Frontmann Spencer Charnas hatte folgende Worte zur Ankündigung parat:

“True to horror franchise tradition, there is always a sequel…’Welcome To Horrorwood‘ follows in the bloody footsteps of its predecessor, paying tribute to 13 more of the most gruesome tales to ever grace the silver screen. In this latest INK offering, the last album and video series is portrayed as a work of fiction. The new story line thrusts the band into a brutal “real world” slaying. The only traces of the crime are 13 songs left behind by the suspected killer…

The first stop on the tour is 1980’s New York City’s ‘greed is good’ scene, where a certain hot shot investment banker has a rather violent dirty secret…”

Und so darf jetzt munter geraten werden, welche Horror-Ikonen und Franchises uns sonst noch so erwarten werden. Es wäre doch gelacht, wenn dieses Mal nicht die Mörderpuppe Chucky, Pinhead aus „Hellraiser“, die Gremlins oder Ash aus „Evil Dead“ mit von der Partie wären, oder? Wir sind gespannt.
