Hellyeah: Stone Sour-Drummer Roy Mayorga ist jetzt festes Mitglied

Nachdem Stone Sour-Drummer Roy Mayorga lediglich für das kürzliche Tribute in Gedenken an Vinnie Paul als temporärer Hellyeah-Schlagzeuger verkündet wurde, weitet sich sein Zutun jetzt auf ein Vollzeit-Engagement aus.

Die Band selbst bestätigte mittlerweile, dass Mayorga den Posten des im Juni 2018 verstorbenen Paul einnehmen werde und ab sofort ein festes Mitglied der Kombo sei.

While Vinnie Paul is obviously irreplaceable, one thing we can’t not do is tour. As easy as it would be to say we’re not going on the road, we have to. Vinnie would be extremely disappointed in us if we didn’t promote this record properly.

He’d be pissed off at all of us for putting all this work into finishing the record and then just letting it sit there on the shelf while we put a couple of songs to radio and whatever…and we know that. So with that being said, we want you all to welcome the incredible Roy Mayorga to the family.

We have a lengthy past with Roy, from being in bands together, from touring and a life long friendship with him. When Roy hits the stage he brings it 333%. Vinnie and Roy were great friends and we have had such great times on and off stage with Roy over the years. Welcome To The Family Roy. Let’s go!“

Neues Album von Hellyeah im September

Am 27. September wird mit „Welcome Home“ der nächste Longplayer der Band erscheinen. Mayorga selbst wird auf diesem Werk nicht zu hören sein; stattdessen gibt es aber die wohl letzten Aufnahmen von Vinnie Paul.

Eine erste Single namens „333“ haben Hellyeah bereits vor einer Weile vom Stapel gelassen. Wer das Ganze verpasst hat, kann sich den Track nebst Musik-Video jetzt hier noch einmal zu Gemüte führen.
